Coats, Donnelly split as Senate OKs budget

Indiana's U.S. senators split their votes Wednesday as the Senate approved a two-year federal budget plan.

Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly voted in favor of the legislation, and Republican Sen. Dan Coats opposed it.

The Democratic-controlled Senate passed the bipartisan proposal by a 64-36 vote. The Republican-run House approved the measure last week 332-94.
