Notre Dame adds tight end commitment

Notre Dame added its third oral commitment in the last 24 hours.

Tyler Luatua, a tight end from La Mirada in La Mirada, Calif., committed to the Irish on Monday, according to reports. He joined linebackers Niles Sykes and Kolin Hill, who announced their decisions Sunday, to pledge to Notre Dame.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Luatua is rated a four-star prospect and is the 22nd member of the Irish's 2014 recruiting class. He is also the second tight end to commit to Notre Dame, joining four-star recruit Nic Weishar of Midlothian, Ill.

Luatua's decision was reported by Irish Illustrated, Blue & Gold Illustrated and Irish Sports Daily, among others.
