Statement as issued Monday by the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne:
Fort Wayne, IN
The grant will enable the Y to continue meeting the needs of children and teens and their families through educational, physical and social programs at the Renaissance Pointe Y and intervention programs at the Youth Service Bureau. These youth development programs nurture the potential of every young person and help them gain the skills necessary to succeed in school and life.
The grant also provides funding for capital improvements at YMCA Camp Potawotami, which offers an outdoor education program and a traditional summer resident camp. Improvements will include additional lodging, a new deck, flooring replacement and a heating system upgrade. These renovations will enable the Y to help more youth learn new skills and form healthy habits while building relationships and self-confidence.
The organizational effectiveness project support will allow the Y to focus on the alignment of its mission with organizational processes and cultures; this will increase the Y’s effectiveness in serving the community.
“The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne is grateful to the Foellinger Foundation for its long-term financial partnership. Their funds have enabled us to serve an increasing number of families and individuals through programs and facilities that meet growing community needs,” states Marty Pastura, YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne President & CEO.
The Y is dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. For more information on how you can help the Y and your community, please contact Nicole Liddell at 260.918.2144 or email@example.com.
