Late Friday morning, the National Weather Service in northern Indiana forecast that worst snow will likely be along and south of the line show here.

5-8 inches of snow likely

FORT WAYNE – The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a winter storm warning for much of northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.

Some areas could get 5 to 8 inches of snow, the highest expected along and south of a line roughly between Knox, Ind., and Wauseon, Ohio. The area north of that line is likely to see 3 to 5 inches.

The warning for the region begins at 7 p.m. Friday and ends 7 p.m. Saturday and includes the following counties:

Indiana – Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, Noble, Wabash, Wells, Whitley.

Ohio – Williams, Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Allen.

Roads in many areas will be covered with snow, becoming slick Friday night.

Cancellations

The Coats for Kids sorting and packing event at Scott's North Clinton store, 4120 N. Clinton St., scheduled for Saturday has been canceled, according to a notice sent Friday by the Volunteer Center.
