Fire guts Angola-area pole barn

A fire in a rural Angola pole barn caused an estimated $55,000 damage, according to a statement issued Thursday by Angola's fire department.

Firefighters were sent to 0127 N Old Road 1 about 9:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found the 30-by-60-foot barn with heavy smoke coming out of the eaves and overhead door, the statement said.

All the contents were destroyed, but no injuries were reported.
