TOLEDO, Ohio – An Ohio man has been charged with fatally stabbing his mother, found with a hunting knife in her chest and wrapped in a blanket in a bedroom of their home.
Toledo police say the body of 56-year-old Mary Bertolina was found Monday afternoon after co-workers said she hadn’t arrived at her job.
Police say her 34-year-old son, Anthony Bertolina, was arrested and charged with murder. He was held in the Lucas County jail to await an arraignment Tuesday.
No motive was mentioned.
The (Toledo) Blade (bit.ly/1d6wEVd ) says the victim was a longtime employee of the newspaper and had recently worked as regional circulation manager.
No attorney was listed for the defendant in online court records.
