Federal charges filed in robbery

Three men arrested after a bank robbery and chase in southern Allen County on Thursday are facing federal charges.

Charles R. Seals Jr., 23, Brandon D. Sizemore, 24, and Calvin L. Miller, 22, were each charged with robbing a bank and a separate count of using a firearm during a crime of violence.

About 8:45 a.m. Thursday, two of the men entered the Wells Fargo Bank, 14816 First St. in Hoagland, with a weapon and demanded money, according to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.

The men fled and led police on a high-speed chase north to Fort Wayne before being arrested a short time later after the driver crashed into a tree in Poe, according to police.

The investigation is being conducted by the FBI Northeast Indiana Federal Bank Robbery Task Force and the United States Postal Inspection Service. The task force is composed of FBI agents and officers from the Indiana State Police, Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Wayne Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
