3 arrested in bank heist, chase

Men charged after robbery in Hoagland

– Three men were arrested Thursday after robbing a bank in Hoagland and leading police on a high-speed chase north into Fort Wayne and then south toward Poe, police said.

Shortly after the bank opened for the day, two men entered the Wells Fargo Bank, 14816 First St. in Hoagland, with a weapon and demanded money, according to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.

A third man was waiting in a black Oldsmobile outside the bank, police said.

Employees told police that the suspects – later identified as Brandon D. Sizemore, 24, Calvin L. Miller, 22, and Charles R. Seals Jr., 23 – fled the scene about 8:45 a.m. with an undisclosed amount of money.

Shortly after the robbery, the vehicle was spotted and the suspects led officers on a high-speed pursuit. The nearly 15-minute pursuit tracked north into Fort Wayne and then south into Poe, where the driver of the Oldsmobile crashed into a tree, police said.

The three men ran from the vehicle and were arrested a short time later.

No one was injured, the sheriff’s department said.

Sizemore, Miller and Seals are in the Allen County Jail on a federal hold. All three men are residents of Fort Wayne.

Seals is also believed to be connected to a February bank robbery at the PNC bank on Coventry Lane, according to federal court documents. He has not been charged in that bank robbery.

It wasn’t clear Thursday which of the three men arrested entered the bank and who was waiting in the Oldsmobile outside.
