New Main Street closure set

Main Street will be closed from Ewing to Harrison streets between Thursday and Dec. 20 for sewer installation, the city of Fort Wayne said today.

The closure is part of a storm sewer separation project that will allow a contractor to install storm and sanitary sewer along Main Street, the city's traffic engineering department said in a statement.

The detour for westbound traffic will use Harrison, Berry and Ewing streets, the statement said. It said the detour for eastbound traffic will use Fairfield Avenue, Wayne Street and Harrison.

Access to the Community Center will be available from Maiden Lane off Berry Street, the statement said.
