2 charged after beaten 16-year-old left at hospital dies

FRANKLIN, Ohio – Police in southwest Ohio have charged two men with murder after a badly beaten teen dropped off at a hospital died from his injuries.

Authorities say the 16-year-old boy was left at a Middletown hospital without any identification early Sunday and was transferred to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, where he died.

Franklin Police Chief Russ Whitman said the youth was beaten at a home in Franklin, about 15 miles south of Dayton. Authorities said two men in a pickup truck had left him at the hospital Sunday. Police said the youth was later identified, but his name hasn’t been released.

Two Franklin men were jailed on charges of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery. No attorneys were listed for them, and a court appearance was set for Tuesday.
