On an overcast Saturday when Glenbrook Square was busy with shoppers, more than a dozen stores remained closed because of a water main break the day before.
“Due to severe water damage, we will NOT be open today,” read a sign posted on the door of Francesca’s, a retailer on the mall’s east side, the area most affected by the break.
Other stores that were closed apparently because of water damage included Wet Seal, Christopher & Banks, Express, Justice, Suncoast Motion Picture Company, Victoria’s Secret, Coach, Shi by Journeys, Journeys Kidz, Things Remembered, Gap Kids, LensCrafters and one of the mall’s two Bath & Body Works locations.
It was not clear when all the stores would reopen. The mall management office was closed Saturday.
On Facebook, Glenbrook officials suggested that concerned shoppers call ahead to see whether a certain store is open.
The stores’ phone numbers are listed on the mall’s website, www.glenbrooksquare.com.
The water main break happened early Friday, and crews were called in to dry out the mall with hoses, pumps, fans and dehumidifiers. Their work continued Saturday afternoon.
