A Babys Closet of Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and Allen County is having a communitywide baby shower this month. Residents are asked to drop off diapers, baby wipes, teething rings, baby wash and powder at all Peerless Cleaners and YMCA locations. Larger items, such as new car seats and cribs, can be dropped off at 602 E. Wayne St. A celebration will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at DeBrand Fine Chocolates, 10105 Auburn Park Drive, in which those who donate an item will get a free piece of chocolate.

Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana raised $20,000 during the recent Bust a Move auction. The money will be used to help people diagnosed with breast cancer.

The League for the Blind & Disabled was awarded a grant from the Indiana Family & Social Services Administration/Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services to provide specialized services for people age 55 and older who are blind and visually impaired.
