CHEERS to a very special person who paid for our lunch at Spyros on West Jefferson Boulevard on Sept. 22. Our friends from Michigan were with us and were impressed that a stranger would do this.

JEERS to the 50 to 60 people at the Sept. 28 Buddy Guy concert who came to the front of the stage to stand and watch the concert. The people in the first five or six rows who made the effort to get their tickets early and paid a premium price were completely blocked from view of the concert. CHEERS to the Foellinger Theatre security who after a couple of songs and numerous complaints did a great job of getting these rude people to sit down while the people in the five or six rows cheered. Also, CHEERS to the Foellinger Theatre for bringing such a high-quality act to Fort Wayne and also for providing a great open venue.
MIKE DOSECK Fort Wayne
CHEERS to the musicians of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, still under contract negotiations with the organization. In spite of the threat of strike, they deemed it important to give supporters one of the most stirring performances. The soloist, pianist Alon Goldstein, was marvelous, eliciting a standing ovation and then rendering a stunning encore piece. Watching the maestro conduct the beautiful Rachmaninoff piece was like watching a ballet performance. The people of Fort Wayne are so fortunate to have this wonderful orchestra, as well as its conductor.
DAR RICHARDSON Fort Wayne
CHEERS to Fort Waynes Animal Care and Control for putting on the 25th annual Walk for Animals in Headwaters Park on Sunday. This is a great way to stand up against animal cruelty and neglect. I will be there walking for what is right and standing up for all animals who have been abused. I am proud of our Animal Care and Control for setting this up every year and all of the people who join in on this wonderful experience.

JEERS to the homeowner on the 8700 of Wheelock Road who burns his garbage on cool evenings when I have my windows open. The smoke from his burning trash makes my house smell like an ashtray, forcing me to shut all of my windows. Im sure the rest of my Foxwood neighbors agree.
