DeKalb slipped past Leo 2-1 in the finals of the Class 2A DeKalb boys soccer championship Wednesday.
The 2A No. 15 Barons (15-3) got goals from brothers Brennan and Landon Cochran, while the Lions (12-3-2) got a goal from Dennis Moric.
Leo goalkeeper Nick Bond stopped 15 shots, while DeKalbs Ashtin Egly had 13 saves.
DeKalb will play North Side (10-5-2) in the Carroll Regional semifinals at 7 p.m. Oct. 17.
The Redskins beat host Homestead 2-1 in overtime in the sectional finals for the schools first-ever championship.
NORTHROP 3, BISHOP DWENGER
2: The Saints won the Canterbury 2A Sectional semifinal match in penalty kicks, 5-3.
Northrops regulation goals came from Steve Gonzalez and Joshua Mahon.
SOUTH SIDE 2, WAYNE
1: The Archers made two first-half goals stand up in advancing to the championship of the Bellmont 2A Sectional.
South Side got goals from Justin Thammachack and Alejandro Lugo, while Wayne scored in the second half on a goal by Omar Villagomez.
BELLMONT 5, NORWELL 0: The host Braves scored three goals in the first half and two more in the second half in a 2A sectional semifinals.
Bellmonts goals came from Sam Ainsworth, Cameron Bienz, Connor Martz, Joel Harvey and Nevin Miller.
BISHOP LUERS 5, WOODLAN 1: The Class A No. 2 Knights won in a sectional semifinal at South Adams.
Seth Caldwell had two goals for Luers.
WARSAW 4, CULVER ACADEMY 3: The Tigers rallied from a 3-0 deficit in the last 22 minutes of the match for the sectional semifinal win at Culver Academy.
Warsaw is ranked No. 6 in the latest 2A poll.
GARRETT 5, HAMILTON 1: Dayton Sweet had two goals for the Railroaders in the semifinals of the Garrett 1A Sectional.
The Railroaders had four goals in the first half.
WARSAW 3, PLYMOUTH 2: The Tigers won their first regional title since 2007 at Culver Academy.
Evan Miller picked up a three-set win at No. 3 singles, winning 3-6, 6-0, 6-2, as did the No. 2 doubles team of Nic Jansen and Caleb Ray, winning 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. Warsaw (14-5) faces Penn (20-3) at the Culver Academy Semistate at 10 a.m. Saturday.
CONCORD 4, EAST NOBLE 1: The Knights (14-5) fell in the regional finals to the host Minutemen.
