Goodluck Okonoboh, Indiana's top target in the 2014 class, gave his commitment to UNLV on Thursday during an announcement on ESPNU.
The Hoosiers were among the first after Okonoboh, a 6-foot-9 center who is regarded as the No. 24 prospect in the nation according to the 247Composite, a service from 247Sports.com that aggregates the rankings of four major recruiting websites into a consensus ranking.
Okonoboh is regarded as the top shot-blocker in his class and impressed during the adidas Invitational in Indianapolis in July. During that time, he received offers from Ohio State and UNLV, the two other major contenders for his services.
The top-five center gave his first official visit to the Hoosiers the weekend of Sept. 13 and followed that up with trips to Columbus (Sept. 27) and Las Vegas (Sept. 29).
Okonoboh had planned to take an official visit to Florida, but after the weekend trips saw all he needed to see. Thursday night, during halftime of a game between University of Louisiana-Monroe and Western Kentucky, he gave his pledge to the Runnin' Rebels.
