Fort Wayne Police officers were called to the 3300 block of Coliseum Boulevard West at the Economy Inn on Tuesday evening for suspected methamphetamine inside a vehicle. Before officers arrived, the suspects fled, leaving the car at the Economy Inn.
Officers found the suspects in the area and discovered four one-pot meth labs inside a room at the Red Roof Inn at the 2900 block of Goshen Road, according to a statement issued by police.
Three children all under the age of 8 were removed from their father's care by the Department of Child Services.
Officers arrested 32-year-old Devon L. Eminger and 31-year-old Joseph Randal Hecht. Both were charged with possession of methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of two or more precursors, maintaining a common nuisance and neglect of a dependent.
Police say this is the 51st methamphetamine lab investigation this year for the Meth Suppression Unit of the Fort Wayne Police Department in Allen County.
