GREENWOOD, Ind. – State police say a man was lying in the roadway of Interstate 65 when he was struck by several vehicles in suburban Indianapolis.
The man was found dead after he was hit about 3 a.m. Monday in I-65’s southbound lanes near the Greenwood exit.
Sgt. Shawn O’Keefe told The Indianapolis Star (http://indy.st/17icZkZ) that police didn’t find any disabled vehicles that might have belonged to the man in the area about five miles south of I-465.
O’Keefe said no identification was found on the man and investigators were trying to check a cellphone he was carrying to determine his identity.
Police closed that section of highway for more than two hours after the man was hit.
