The change inside the 1st Source Center downtown has been a dramatic one.
Gone are the dark wood and brass fixtures, replaced by a wave wall, bistro seating, a wine wall and hand-crafted paint treatments that look like molten glass.
It’s a setting unique to Fort Wayne, which is exactly what Todd Smith wanted for his latest venture – Main St. Bistro & Martini Lounge, 200 E. Main St.
The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. Thursday and will serve lunch and dinner, as well as offer entertainment Thursday through Saturday nights.
The menu, Smith says, is West Coast-style cuisine with a Midwest twist. Lunch offerings include a duck club, Peruvian cast iron half chicken and a niçoise salad. The dinner menu will change weekly, with items created by chef Johnny Bojinoff, previously of Old Crowne Coffee Roasters.
Behind the bar, sommelier and front of the house manager Tina Mixtaj is infusing spirits – bourbon with clove, vanilla and cinnamon and vodka with peppercorn, basil and sun-dried tomato. There also are 14 microbrews and more than 50 varieties of wine hand-selected by Mixtaj.
