Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon on U.S. 33 in Noble County, the county’s sheriff’s department said in a news release.
A 1998 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Christina Hensley, 52, Albion, was northbound on U.S. 33 south of State Road 9 shortly before 3 p.m. and went left of the center for an unknown reason and struck a vehicle driven by David Johnson, 55, Fort Wayne, the release said.
Hensley was pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated. She suffered head and abdomen injuries. Johnson, who was driving a 1997 Mercury Sable, and his passenger, Rudy Lewis, 62, Fort Wayne, were able to get out of their vehicle on their own. The two men suffered head injuries.
Hensley was transported by Samaritan Helicopter to Parkview Regional Medical Center while Johnson and his passenger were taken by EMS to the same medical center.
Both vehicles involved sustained heavy front-end damage, the release said.
