A 24-year-old found in a northeast Indiana church is a suspect in a second church break-in as well as in a number of thefts from vehicles.
Nicholas Wilson, 24, of Garrett, was found and arrested in the worship area of Garrett Presbyterian Church at Franklin Street about 3 a.m. Sunday after a resident called police about a suspicious person, according to a statement issued Tuesday by the Garrett Police Department.
The police said Wilson got into the church through a broken window.
A search of Wilsons home on Quincy Street turned up a number of stolen items, the police said, including objects taken from Auburn Alliance Church.
Wilson later admitted breaking into a number of vehicles in Auburn and burglarizing that church as well, the police statement said.
More than 75 items have been recovered, and the police said they hope victims will come forward and make a theft report.
The Garrett department said most items were taken from unlocked vehicles and few of the vehicles were broken into.
