Fort Waynes offense roared back to life, and the TinCaps avoided a sweep with a 7-4 win against Bowling Green on Monday at Bowling Green Ballpark.
Third baseman Gabriel Quintana got the bats going for Fort Wayne (69-63, 26-37 second half) in the third inning with a two-run home run off Hot Rods starter Reinaldo Lopez. The home run was Quintanas ninth.
Fort Wayne stayed ahead of Bowling Green (77-55, 39-25) the rest of the way.
San Diego first-round pick Hunter Renfroe went 2 for 5 with a RBI double for the TinCaps.
Second baseman Maxx Tissenbaum was 3-for-3 with four RBI.
Colin Rae, who is usually a reliever, got the win in his first start.
