Indiana coach Kevin Wilson announced Tuesday that right guard Dan Feeney will be out for the season with a foot injury.
Feeney, who started all 12 games for the Hoosiers last season, suffered a lisfranc fracture during camp and will be out for the 2013 season. The team will look into other options, but Wilson isn't concerned about IU's depth along the line.
"We've got to be ready to overcome that," Wilson told reporters. "I think our team's going to be good enough that we can start handling some adversity and some little hiccups."
Redshirt sophomore Jake Reed, who was competing for the starting center job and also played at guard, will likely take Feeney's spot in the lineup.
Wilson did not specify if the lisfranc injury was to Feeney's left or right foot. Junior backup Bernard Taylor and sophomore David Kaminski could also compete for a starting spot or position on the two-deep at right guard with Feeney out.
