Rep. Marlin Stutzman says social media sometimes can be antisocial, which is why nothing beats meeting employers face to face.
The lawmaker is sponsoring a job fair Friday along with IPFW. Nearly 50 employers have about 1,000 positions to fill. Companies include 80/20 Inc., BAE Systems Inc., Costco Wholesale, PepsiCo Inc. and Westpoint Financial.
Stutzman, R-3rd, said applicants would be wise to explore various employment options.
“The economy is still moving and changing,” he said.
Job hunters may find careers in areas they hadn’t thought of, Stutzman said, so it pays to be flexible.
Organizers expect up to 1,000 people at the event that is taking place at the Walb Student Union Classic Ballroom on IPFW’s campus.
