Car slams utility pole, killing Ohio driver, 88

An 88-year-old man died in a single-car crash Tuesday in Defiance County, Ohio, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

Robert E. Kibble of Bryan, Ohio, was driving south on Ohio 15 in Ney about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday when his 2011 Ford Fusion struck a utility pole at the end of a “T” intersection with Ohio 249, according to a statement issued by the patrol’s Defiance post.

Kibble died at the scene.

He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the highway patrol.
