Crash with pole kills driver

The Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-car crash that left an 88-year-old man dead.

Robert E. Kibble of Bryan, Ohio, was driving south on Ohio 15 in Ney about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday when his 2011 Ford Fusion struck a utility pole at the end of a T intersection with Ohio 249, according to a statement issued by the post.

Kibble died at the scene of the Defiance County crash, the post said. It said he was not wearing a seat belt.
