House search yields 3 meth labs, 1 arrest

Police serving an eviction notice this week at a house on Fort Wayne’s south side found three one-pot meth labs inside, according to court documents.

Allen County police officers were evicting the tenants of 415 W. Concord Lane, near Fairfield Avenue, on Monday morning, court documents stated.

During the process, the officers smelled a strong chemical odor coming from the basement, and there they discovered three one-pot labs in a freezer and meth ingredients, court documents said.

A resident of the house, Dedra Carter, told police she let her friends stay there and cook meth. She added that she bought pills for her friends so they could make meth, court documents stated.

Carter, 36, was charged Friday with dealing methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was being held at the Allen County Jail in lieu of $52,500 bail.
