Rollover crash victim was local woman, 41

– A woman killed Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash on West Washington Center Road has been identified.

Rhonda M. Rider, 41, of Fort Wayne, died at the scene from blunt-force injuries, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

The death has been ruled an accident. Police said speed might have contributed to the crash. Rider’s is the eighth traffic death this year in Allen County.

Emergency workers responded to the crash about 3:40 p.m. near the intersection of Washington Center and Flaugh Road, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department said.

Rider’s sport utility vehicle had left the north side of the road and rolled, ejecting her, police said.

Rider was not wearing her seat belt at the time, police said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and the coroner’s office.
