Cold-medicine record leads to meth arrest

Buitron

A 23-year old Kendallville woman was arrested Tuesday on multiple meth-related charges, according to a statement issued by Indiana State Police.

A trooper stopped Talisa N. Buitron on U.S. 6 at Fairview Boulevard for an unspecified traffic infraction, the statement said.

Trooper John Silver used the pseudoephedrine data-tracking system and then got consent to search the vehicle, the statement said. He reported finding several items commonly used in the production of methamphetamine, a bag containing what police believe is meth and a smoking device.

Buitron was taken to the Noble County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of precursors, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia, police said.
