Auer foundation grants

The Edward D. and Ione Auer Foundation recently awarded the following grants:

Questa Foundation for Education: $50,000 for the Questa Scholars program.

Lifetime Sports Academy: $25,000 for the Kids Play Free program.

Science Central: $25,000 for support for operations.

YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne: $25,000 Renaissance Pointe arts programs.

Historic Fort Wayne: $15,000 for a roofing project.

Vincent Village: $15,000 for the Transitional Shelter program.

ACRES Land Trust: $10,000 for art and education programs.

Community Harvest Food Bank: $10,000 for food distribution programs.

Community Transportation Network: $10,000 for Medical Transportation program.

Healthier Moms and Babies: $10,000 for outreach operations.

Interfaith Hospitality Network: $10,000 for the Homeless Families programs.

Neighborhood Health Clinics: $10,000 for the Community Awareness project.

Super Shot: $10,000 for shot clinic programs.

League for the Blind and Disabled: $10,000 for Independent Living Skills Training program.

A Hope Center: $5,500 for the Earn While You Learn program.

The Auer Foundation is scheduled to be in existence until 2022 but will continue to affect the Fort Wayne community through endowments and scholarships. Grant selections are based on Ione Auer’s past giving interests and her planning documents and from knowledge of her community involvement. The co-trustees for the Auer Foundation are David Meyer, of Monarch Capital Management, and Lake City Bank.
