Mom2Mom sale boasts 70 vendors

More than 70 vendors will be set up at the Allen County Fairgrounds on Saturday in one of the area’s largest garage sales.

Moms.FortWayne.com is sponsoring its third annual Mom2Mom Sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the fairgrounds, 2726 Carroll Road, in the 4-H Building and the Home Loan Bank Building. Event Chairwoman Christanne Bauer-Deitering says she hopes the sale helps encourage people to get out of the house and enjoy the first full week of spring.

“It’s like a really big garage sale, but instead of having to go to multiple locations, we have everybody under one nice and dry roof,” she says.

The number of vendors has more than doubled from last year, she says, and items up for sale are primarily geared toward moms and children, including beauty supplies, organic items for baby, baby formula, wooden bowls, candles and crafted items like hairbows and blankets.

“In the past, we’ve had 500 plus people” attend,” Bauer-Deitering says. “Doubling our vendors, we hope that we will have even more (in attendance).”

The sale is also sponsored by Kroger, Goodwill and Creative Treasures Preschool; entrance into the sale is free.
