Komets win in shootout

Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock had the second hat trick of his career -- first since 2010 -- and he added a goal in a shootout as the Komets defeated the Greenville Road Warriors 4-3 on Saturday night at Memorial Coliseum.

The Komets squandered a two-goal lead in the third period, but they got shootout goals from Schrock and defenseman Jamie Milam, while goaltender Jeff Deslauriers stopped all four shots he faced in the shootout.

After averaging 15.7 goals over his first three seasons, Schrock came into Saturday with only six goals for a team that had lost 11 of 15 games. Greenville came in on a two-game winning streak, but it had lost 5 of 7.

The Komets have scored three or more goals in only 30 of their 65 games this season.
