The East Allen County Schools Board will host several public forums where parents, community members and school employees will be able to chime in on the search for a new superintendent.
Currently, the board is working with University Team Support for Superintendent Recruitment in finding a replacement to take the helm vacated when the board and former Superintendent Karyle Green agreed on the terms of a contract buyout last month.
At the public forums, the school board is asking those planning to attend to reflect on these questions before the meeting:
What are the strengths of the schools in our communities that will attract a superintendent?
What are the challenges of the schools in our communities that a superintendent will face?
What are the personal and/or professional characteristics that will be absolutely essential for the success of the next superintendent?
One public forum will be 6 p.m. Wednesday at New Haven High School, which is for all those involved in New Haven and Harding area schools.
Other meetings will be 6 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Junior-Senior High School, Leo Junior-Senior High School and Woodlan Junior-Senior High School.
