Ohio mosque suspect asking judge to withdraw plea

TOLEDO, Ohio – An Indiana man is set to go before a judge and explain why he wants to withdraw his guilty plea to starting a fire at a mosque near Toledo.

Randy Linn, of St. Joe, is due in federal court this morning in Toledo.

Linn asked to change his plea in January, saying he made a mistake and was in an emotional and depressed state when he pleaded guilty.

Prosecutors say he broke into The Islamic Center of Greater Toledo last fall and lit a fire that caused extensive damage.

He said in court last December that he set the fire he wanted revenge for the killings of American soldiers overseas.

A deal between prosecutors and Linn had called for him to receive a 20-year sentence.
