Crashes mar I-469 morning commute

Slippery roads led to a series of crashes that included four semis and six cars on Interstate 469 Wednesday morning, police said.

The crashes occurred before 10 a.m. and some details about the wrecks remained unclear and unavailable.

According to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, one crash had already occurred when three vehicles, including a semi, were traveling north on I-469 near the Maplecrest Road exit.

One of the vehicles slowed down when the driver saw the first wreck ahead, but the vehicle began to slide and then became wedged under a trailer of the semi.

The crashes caused the interstate to be restricted for at least an hour. No serious injuries were reported.
