Hearing delayed for suspect in mosque fire

Linn

TOLEDO, Ohio – A federal court hearing in Ohio has been pushed back for a northeast Indiana man who wants to withdraw his guilty plea to starting a fire at a mosque near Toledo.

Randy Linn of St. Joe was to be in court Thursday morning in Toledo, but the hearing on whether he can change his plea has been moved to next week.

Linn asked to take back the guilty plea in January, saying he made a mistake and was depressed when he pleaded guilty just three months ago.

Prosecutors said he broke into The Islamic Center of Greater Toledo last fall and lit a fire that caused extensive damage.

He said in court that he set the fire because he wanted revenge for the killings of American soldiers overseas.
