A 19-year-old driver was badly hurt Tuesday in a collision with a semi north of Albion, according to the Noble County Sheriff’s Department.

Jonathan Ramirez Moreno of Cromwell was on Indiana 9 about 2:20 p.m. when he pulled in front of the semi headed east on U.S. 6, the sheriff’s department said.

The semi hit the driver’s side of the 2003 Jeep that Ramirez Moreno was driving. Both vehicles came to a stop in the westbound lane of U.S. 6.

The semi driver, Joseph Zborowski, 51, of Ligonier, was not hurt, and Ramirez Moreno was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center with injuries, the sheriff’s department said.

Ramirez Moreno was in critical condition Tuesday evening, hospital staff said.
