A fire that started in an apartment damaged a triplex Tuesday night on Fort Waynes south side, according to the city fire department.
At 7:26 p.m., firefighters were sent to 2504 Miner St., near Broadway and West Creighton Avenue. They found smoke throughout the two-story building and flames in the rear, first-floor apartment, the department said.
The fire was quickly extinguished and did not spread beyond that apartment. However, the other units sustained smoke damage.
No one was in the building at the time, and no one was injured, the department said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
