The Fort Wayne Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a man suspected of theft and fraud.About 12:30 p.m.A Kendallville couple was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital Wednesday morning after their SUV struck a utility pole on Indiana 8, according to a statement issued by the Indiana State Police.
Police were called to the crash near Noble County Road 800 East about 8:15 a.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates that Tyler L. Mumma, 20, was driving east on Indiana 8 when the 1999 Mitsubishi Montero's speed, coupled with the ice- and snow-covered road, cause the SUV to slip and take down the REMC utility police, the state police said.
Tyler L. and Sarah R. Mumma, 20, were wearing their seat belts and suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to the police statement.
There was also a crash at 01915 W. 900 N. Wednesday morning in which two drivers were injured.
The Noble County Sheriff’s Department said a Jeep Cherokee going east lost control on the ice and snow and went left of center, striking a Ford 150.
The Cherokee driver, Julie Stacey, 41, of Rome City, and the truck driver, Darwin Wolfe, 47, of rural Noble County, were transported to an area hospital.
The extent of their injuries was not immediately available.
