Crash death blamed on medical problem

A medical problem prompted a 60-year-old Angola man to crash a car last month, and that problem was the cause of his death, the Angola Police Department said Monday.

The morning of Jan. 13, John Pentico was driving south in the 1000 block of South Wayne Street in Angola, when his car drifted across the road and hit a tree, police said.

Pentico of Angola was taken to Cameron Memorial Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Toxicology test results later revealed that he had a medical problem before the crash and that he died of natural causes, police said.
