Death near duplex remains a mystery

Authorities are still trying to determine the cause of death of a man found unresponsive last week on the steps of a vacant duplex near downtown Warsaw, Kosciusko County Coroner Michael Wilson said Monday.

Wilson said an autopsy on Randall Dale Jones, 56, of Warsaw, was done Friday, but the results were inconclusive. He said he was awaiting more information and could not yet say whether foul play is suspected.

Police have said Frankie Lee Poe, 40, of Warsaw, is a person of interest in Jones’ death. Police arrested Poe early Friday on a preliminary charge of residential entry to the vacant duplex.

On Monday, he was being held without bail at the Kosciusko County Jail.
