Driver airlifted after head-on in Angola

A motorist was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital over the weekend after two vehicles collided head-on in front of the Walmart in Angola, according to the Angola Police Department.

When officers arrived at the crash scene about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, both drivers were pinned in their vehicles, and firefighters had to free them, police said.

Three motorists were taken to Cameron Memorial Community Hospital in Angola, and a fourth was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, police said.

The names and conditions of the injured were not released. The crash remains under investigation.
