A Warsaw police officer was taken to a hospital with back pain after a car crash Thursday, the Kosciusko County Sheriffs Department said.
Shortly after 4 p.m., officer Clay Layne was driving east on Sheridan Street in Warsaw when a southbound car on Colfax Street pulled in front of him, police said.
The other driver, Carrie Graves, 60, of Claypool, told police she had stopped at the stop sign and did not see the squad car until the collision, police said.
Graves was not hurt, while Layne, 43, of Warsaw, suffered back pain and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital, police said.
