'Person of interest' held after Warsaw death

Warsaw police are investigating the death of a 56-year-old Warsaw man Thursday night, and one person is in custody.

Frankie Lee Poe, 40, of Warsaw, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail early Friday on preliminary charges of residential entry in connection with the death of the man at a vacant duplex at 228 N. Fort Wayne Ave., according to a statement issued by the Warsaw Police Department.

Poe was being held without bond and is a "person of interest" in the death investigation, the statement said.

A neighbor called police to check on the "unresponsive male" at 7:34 p.m. Thursday. He was found on the duplex steps and was pronounced dead at an area hospital, police said.

The victim has been identified as Randall Jones of Greenhill Drive. An autopsy is scheduled today in Fort Wayne.
