Kitchen fire damages home

A kitchen fire heavily damaged a two-story home at 606 W. Packard Ave., west of Fairfield Avenue, according to the Fort Wayne Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the residence about 10 p.m. Sunday after a pan of grease caught fire. The blaze was brought under control in about 20 minutes, the fire department said.

The fire heavily damaged the kitchen and resulted in smoke damage throughout the house. An adult and two children were able to exit the home before firefighters arrived.
