BLOOMINGTON – Indiana didn't have the performance it wanted, but it got the result it needed after losing to Minnesota on Tuesday.

The No. 1 Hoosiers defeated Iowa 73-60 in front of 17,472 fans in Assembly Hall.

The victory likely will not allow Indiana to hang on to the top ranking, and the Hoosiers had anything but their top game Saturday night.

Indiana (25-4, 13-3 Big Ten) only hit 21 of 54 shots, 38.9 percent, and the Hoosiers didn't make a three-pointer until there was less than a minute to play. Victor Oladipo and Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell both made threes as the Hoosiers went 2 for 14 on three-pointers.

Cody Zeller finished with a double-double, getting 22 points and 10 rebounds. Ferrell finished with a career-high 19 points, and Oladipo added 10.

Iowa (18-11, 7-9) didn't perform any better on offense, going 21 of 55 from the field, 38.2 percent, and hitting 1 of 13 three-pointers.

The Hawkeyes committed 19 turnovers, which the Hoosiers turned into 19 points. Indiana was also strong around the basket scoring 36 points in the paint and 16 second-chance points.

Roy Devyn Marble scored 20 for Iow, and Aaron Whit added 14.
