The body of Thomas Haskins was a day away from being cremated – and his closest kin didn’t even know he was dead.Two men were shot Thursday night on the city's south side, and one of them was critically hurt, police said.
Fort Wayne police were called about 6 p.m. and found the men in the 2100 block of Eden Street in Eden Green Apartments, near Greene and Reed streets.
Both men had at least one gunshot wound and were taken to a local hospital, police said.
One of the men was listed in critical condition and the other was in fair condition. Witnesses near the area of the shooting reported seeing someone wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, police said.
