Prayer service at site of fatal police-action shooting

FORT WAYNE – A Heal the Land service will be conducted at 12:15 p.m. Saturday in the Feb. 20 death of Stephen O’Neal Wattley II.

The Peace and Justice Commission of Allen County will conduct the prayer service at the Baldwin Creek Apartments in the 1900 block of Hobson Road, where Wattley died as the result of a police-action shooting after the armed robbery of a nearby pharmacy.

His death was the fifth homicide of 2013 in Fort Wayne and Allen County.
