Icy storm moves into region

FORT WAYNE – The National Weather Service in northern Indiana says much of northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio can expect to get sleet and freezing rain over the next few hours.

About 10:30 a.m., it updated its forecast for the region. The area north of U.S. 30 was not warming up as quickly as earlier forecasts projected. Although the area will eventually be above freezing, the icy precipitation is expected to persist until the middle of the afternoon, the weather service said.

The following counties in northern Indiana and northwest Ohio are expected to have snow tonight: Pulaski, Fulton, Whitley, Allen In, White, Cass, Miami, Wabash, Huntington and Paulding. Some of those areas also might see more sleet and freezing rain.
