Comeback comes up short

The Mad Ants' second-half comeback fell short in their 112-104 loss to the Erie BayHawks on Tuesday at Memorial Coliseum.

The Ants (16-19) fell behind by as many as 26 points in the first half, then spent the rest of the game trying to catch up to Erie (20-15).

Ron Howard's free throw with 3:03 remaining got the Ants within 104-99, but Erie was able to hold on for the win.

Howard led the Ants with 28 points, and Tony Mitchell added 25.
