Victim of Saturday shooting identified

Galvan

A 28-year-old Fort Wayne man has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting early Saturday on McDonald Street, the Allen County coroner's office said this afternoon.

Antonio Galvan III's death is the sixth homicide for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2013, the coroner's office said in a statement.

Galvan died from a gunshot wound or wounds, the coroner's office has said.

City police said they were called to 3017 McDonald St., near Edsall Avenue, at 1:20 a.m. Saturday. The victim had been shot just inside the entryway to the home, and died at the scene.

Galvan's death remains under investigation by Fort Wayne police, the coroner's office and the county prosecutor's office.
